二戰爆發後，貝聿銘無法返回中國，先後在波士頓，紐約和洛杉磯從事建築設計工作。加入美國籍後，貝聿銘參與了一系列城建項目，比如丹佛的Mile High中心，芝加哥的海德公園重建項目以及蒙特利爾的瑪麗廣場。在紐約韋伯克納波設計所就職不久後，貝聿銘獨立創業，成立了"貝氏及夥伴設計事務所"。得益於建築巨頭扎肯多夫公司的鼎力支持，貝聿銘的設計靈感得到了極大的激發。

    The White House has declared a state of emergency after a cyber attack forced the shutdown of a vital U.S. pipeline.

Identifies Group Behind Pipeline Hack The attack by DarkSide, a relatively new criminal group believed to have roots in Eastern Europe, exposed the vulnerability of key U.S. infrastructure. This is how the Colonial Pipeline became a vital artery for fuel. The White House has declared a state of emergency after a cyber attack forced the shutdown of a vital U.S. pipeline.  Experts said that  gasoline prices are unlikely to be affected  if the pipeline is back to normal in the next few days.
